Export logistics

A shipment is more than a container booking.

Cassava cargo needs product-aware planning across packaging, moisture, inland transport, port operations, freight, documents, and destination readiness.

End-to-end coordination

Seven handoffs that determine shipment performance.

01

Production release

Approved lot, quantity, packaging materials, marks, quality records, and readiness date.

02

Packing control

Bag, liner, weight, sealing, moisture protection, palletization, and traceable lot identification.

03

Inland movement

Truck type, loading point, route, timing, weather exposure, weighbridge, and port cutoff.

04

Container & terminal

Clean, dry, odor-free equipment; inspection; stuffing plan; seal; VGM; gate-in; and terminal status.

05

Ocean freight

Carrier, routing, transshipment, free time, schedule reliability, insurance, and freight terms.

06

Document release

Invoice, packing list, bill of lading, origin, quality, inspection, phytosanitary or health documents as applicable.

07

Destination readiness

Importer documents, customs broker, permits, duty, terminal costs, delivery plan, storage, and claims evidence.

Incoterms

Choose the term that matches control, capability, and risk.

FOB, CFR, CIF, FCA, DAP, and other terms allocate costs and risk differently. The named place, transport mode, insurance, export and import responsibilities, and document flow must be written precisely.

FOBSeller delivers on board at named port; buyer controls main freight.
CFRSeller pays ocean freight; risk still transfers at shipment port.
CIFSeller adds minimum marine insurance under the term; buyer should review adequacy.
DAPSeller organizes delivery to named destination; buyer usually handles import clearance and duties.

Document planning

The required pack changes by product and destination.

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Bill of lading or sea waybill
  • Certificate of origin
  • Certificate of analysis
  • Phytosanitary, fumigation, health, or free-sale documents where applicable
  • Inspection, weight, quality, container, and loading evidence where agreed
  • Insurance certificate when required
  • Importer permits, labeling, and destination-specific declarations
